March 2024
Round ІІ
To foster positive interaction and cooperation among community members, the project supports community-led initiatives aimed at building trust. Initiative groups work to develop and implement social cohesion plans in 12 target communities across the regions. These plans are the outcome of capacity-building training sessions. The efforts are focused on ensuring the sustainability of the humanitarian response and preventing the unintended segregation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the local population. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is dedicated to building trust and promoting social cohesion within the communities involved in its ongoing shelter programs.
As part of the project, World of Communities LLC organizes Government Game Modeling events, with the following topics at the core of the scenarios:
6

Placing additional emphasis on involving residents from remote settlements had a positive impact. Expanding the circle of participants highlighted several issues that, if addressed in future projects, could greatly enhance community cohesion and inclusiveness, especially during times of crisis.
Key needs of residents in remote communities:
Community Connectivity: There is a significant need to improve transportation, logistics, and, often overlooked, information infrastructure to ensure equal access to community opportunities, regardless of the settlement's location.
Facilitating Public Dialogue: Creating platforms for dialogue and understanding, not only at the community level but also within each settlement, to foster communication across all areas.
Inclusive Educational and Public Events: Organizing educational and public events as part of similar projects, not just in central settlements, but also in more remote areas
The project is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with funding from the Government of the Republic of Korea.
